“Together, we will make Central New York’s voice ring through the halls of Albany!”
Nick Paro’s Plan:
Make New York Affordable
Deliver tax relief for families and small businesses.
Permanently reduce by 2% the tax rates for middle and low income households in New York State. These are households that earn $300k less for married, $250k and less for head of households, or $200k and less for single filers.
Double the base figure for enhanced and basic STAR benefits, helping our senior citizens facing rising costs to remain in the homes that they earned.
Lower small businesses corporate tax rate to 2.5%.
Expand the Personal Income Tax exemption for small businesses and farms and increase the exemption to 15% for businesses and 20% for farms. This would reflect $400 million in tax savings across New York State.
Reform the State’s development process and fast-track the appeals process.
Pass S. 869 that streamlines and simplifies the State’s rules making and licensing practices, cutting burdensome red tape across industries.
Improve Public Safety
Repeal Bail Reform to give judges the discretion they need to keep dangerous repeat offenders off the streets.
Create SAFER Communities Grant Program that invests in local law enforcement. (S.6212)
Increase penalties for those who assault police officers, firefighters, and other first responders.
Adjust Discovery Reform to give District Attorney’s the tools they need to prosecute violent crimes.
Roll back Less is More legislation to give Parole Officers the tools they need to prevent recidivism.
Repeal the HALT Act to give Correctional officers the tools they need to maintain order protecting themselves and their law-abiding detainees in our state’s prison system.
Repeal Raise the Age laws to protect vulnerable youth from being dragged into a life of crime.
Fix the Migrant Crisis
End the billions of dollars in handouts funding illegal migrant housing, healthcare, and prepaid debit cards, etc.
End New York’s Sanctuary State status and require local governments to cooperate with federal immigration officers.
Pass Laken’s Law to mandate that local law enforcement immediately notify federal immigration enforcement if they arrest an illegal immigrant with a criminal background.
Demand Action from Congress and the President to address illegal immigration and support “Tall Fences and Wide Gates.”
Reliable and Affordable Energy Policies
Immediately delay the implementation of New York’s unrealistic and burdensome CLCPA climate mandates by 10 years.
Prohibit the State from mandating the electrification of personal vehicles.
Repeal the prohibition of gas appliances.
Encourage investment in alternative clean energy sources, such as nuclear.
Prevent the State from closing any power generation facility before new facilities come online.
Provide relief via a tax credit to hydroelectric plants to offset relicensing costs.
Expand the residential solar energy tax credit.
Create the Rural Energy Infrastructure Act of 2025.
Provide a tax credit for individuals in underserved or unserved areas of the gas system to assist the buildout of natural gas infrastructure.
Direct the Public Service Commission and Comptroller to find the true cost of the CLCPA
Pass the Ratepayer Relief Act that establishes a credit ratepayer that covers the costs of the CLCPA.
Be an Advocate for CNY
Make NYS Thruway free between exits 34A and 39.
Support transportation, infrastructure, and workforce development funding in preparation for Micron.
Encourage State investments for improved community building and redevelopment of blighted properties.
